The critical hits you cause in combat are more devastating than ordinary hits. And also can have additional effects on the target.

Critical Hit to a Body Part

  • A critical hit into the eyes or head can instantly bring you to 0 HP (no matter how much HP you have).
  • A critical hit into the eyes can knock you down, make you lose your next turn, or blind you.
  • A critical hit to a leg can knock you down or cripple your leg.
  • A critical hit to the groin can knock you down or out.
  • A critical hit to an arm can cripple it, or make you drop your weapon.

Critical Table

1. There are six levels (ROLL) of critical effect, higher is more destructive to target, but the requirements are greater for the attacker (for example perk Better Criticals provides highest 6th level of the table, but trait Heavy Handed truncate table to 3 levels of table (with perk BC gives max 4th level)).

2. Critcal effect (ROLL) is conditioned on aimed part of body, on attacker STATs: Critical Chance, perks, used weapon bonus, on targets perks, stats, armors/helmet critical modifiers (too much to explain this in details).

  • ROLL = Random(0, 50) + Bonus
  • Bonus is a sum of perks, armor, weapon bonuses etc and luck( 1LK = 1 bonus)
  • Table its from patch 4.6
  • Effects are unlocked on tiers so slow effect may apear also on high tier critical
  • Damage multiplier sums with other multipliers( for example Kamikaze 15% )

Calculating critical power

Critical roll in fonline 3 is being calculated by suming up random 0-50 roll with base crit roll bonusses, then multiplying the results with summed % crit roll multiplier. Both steps can also be reduced by additional factors like anti crit perks.

Simple crit calc scenario example
Character with 20 luck(20 base crit), better criticals perk(25% crit multiplier) and 2x agressive implants using plasma rifle(5 base crit) scores a critical hit on a target

  • Game rolls random base crit roll from 1-50 and scores 30.
  • Random roll of 30, bonus from luck(20) and plasma weapon(5) sums up to base 55 crit roll
  • Target have Heavy Armor Perk reducing base crit roll from 55 to 35
  • Crit multiplier scores in, increasing base roll by multiplier value of additional 35% (25% from better criticals and 10% from agressive implants)
  • 35 * 1,35 = 47,25 crit roll = 2nd crit bracket
