Damage Reduction is a reduction of damage from any source, and cannot be bypassed.
If you have many sources of Damage Reduction, they all work seperate (so first 5 then 10 then 10).
Also, there is 2 type of Dmaage Reduction: PVP and PVE. For exemple, the "Advanced Plate" perk on armors can five 15% Damage Reduction in PVP.
Note: Damage reduction can be negative which add damage to you.
