Damage Threshold (DT) is a statistic that represents the numerical value subtracted from incoming damage whenever a target is hit. Every target has seven damage thresholds, one for each type of damage. All Damage Thresholds can be modified through the use of armor, except EMP DT.
Damage Threshold reduces damage before the damage reduction provided by damage resistance is calculated. For example, if you wear a suit of armor whose DT is 2 and whose DR is 50% and you get hit for 100 points of damage, you will receive (100 - 2) x 0.5 = 49 points of damage.
Damage Thresholds can be increased by a number of perks:
- Adrenaline Rush, which provides a circumstantial +1 to +3 bonus to all DTs
- Even Tougher, which provides a +3 bonus to normal DT
- Toughness, which provides a +2 bonus to normal DT
