It can be obtained during a conversation with any of the trappers who reside in Trapper Town, Klamath. The location of trappers.

Learning Gecko Skinning allows you to loot pelts off of dead geckos.

There are three types of geckos. Each type drops its own unique pelt.

Silver geckos

Template:Critter1 Silver Geckos (also known as White Geckos, Little Geckos or simply Geckos) are commonly found over much of the Californian wasteland and are typically hunted for their pelts by beginners. They are the weakest of their species when compared to their more dangerous cousins and are an easy-to-moderate foe to take on for many beginning characters looking to level up and perhaps acquire some caps, or trade, through their skins. Combat Silver Geckos are straightforward in their attack pattern, choosing to simply rush and surround their prey to shred them with a flurry of melee attacks. However, Silver Geckos are fairly weak in terms of attack strength and health, making them easy to dispatch for most anyone with a decent setup and a reasonable amount of HP. Gecko Pelt A Gecko pelt. This is the dried and cured hide of a little gecko. Weight: 907 grams. Obtaining Gecko Pelts You can buy them from other players or from NPC merchants. Hunt Silver Geckos (the white or silver kind) for pelts, using the Gecko Skinning support perk. It can be obtained from dismantling some armors. Uses Gecko pelts are used to craft light armors. Armors that need Gecko Pelts to be crafted: Leather Helmet Leather Jacket Combat Leather Helmet Combat Leather Jacket Can be sold in Klamath for caps to Maida Buckner at the Buckner Bar.

Golden geckos

Template:Critter1 Golden Geckos are a tougher breed of Gecko, easily distinguished by their golden-brownish appearance and green frills. Golden Geckos are often hunted for their pelts, which serve as both a key material in the crafting and upgrading of leather-based armors, as well as a reasonably valuable trade item. They can be found in many of the flat-land, desert, and mountainous regions of the wasteland; most notably in the vicinity of Klamath and Modoc. Golden Geckos don't differ much from their silver cousins, but pale in comparison to their fiery brethren. They rush to their prey in an attempt surround them, just as the Silver Geckos do, but are notably tougher and deal a fair bit more damage, making them a moderate threat to beginning characters. Despite this, they are still easily taken out at range with a decent weapon and competent combat skill %. Golden Gecko Pelt A Golden Gecko pelt. This is the dried and cured hide of a Golden Gecko. Weight: 2267 grams. Finding Golden Gecko Pelts Kill a Golden Gecko and loot its pelt. Note that the Gecko Skinning support perk is needed to do this. Golden Geckos can be found in various places, notably around NCR, Hub, and northern towns like Klamath. It can be obtained from disassembling armors. Uses Golden Geckos pelts are used to craft armors. Fire geckos

Template:Critter1 Fire geckos are pretty tough creatures, if you want to hunt them for their skin and craft some nice combat armors be careful not get to close, they have powerful breath of fire that does lot of damage even if you are in Combat Armor Mark II. They often crit you so hunt with ranged weapons. You can find them all over the desert. Fire gecko pelt A Fire Gecko pelt. This is the dried and cured hide of a Fire Gecko. Weight: 957 grams.
