Lore factions are the five major canonical organizations from the classic Fallout games that offer FOnline 3 players the opportunity to shape the political landscape of the wasteland.
Joining a lore faction comes with unique rules of engagement, objectives, gameplay elements, and rewards.
Players who don't join any lore factions directly can still partake in some of their related mechanics, such as War Events.
There are five lore factions currently available, see the table below.
Joining/claiming a lore faction
The first step for anyone looking to join a lore faction is to check #faction-status and #faction recruitment center channels on FOnline 3 Discord Server.
If the lore faction you're interested in joining is up and running, all you need to do is enlist.
If your chosen lore faction has not yet been claimed, you may be able to take charge of it provided you find three more level 50+ players willing to help you set it up.
Lore faction mechanics
Joining a lore faction removes your negative reputation with that faction; leaving a lore faction removes your positive reputation with that faction.
Lore faction members have exclusive access to faction contracts that reward faction reputation.
Lore factions must complete missions to avoid dissolution. Faction missions are separate from faction contracts. Example missions include defeating specific patrols, opening specific lore factions' cases, completing contracts, procuring specific rare items, or participating in events such as New Reno Wars.
Missions award faction points upon completion, which can be used to purchase lore-faction-exclusive rewards.
During a War Event, lore faction members will always be placed on their lore faction's team if it's available.
