Armor is what you put on to protect yourself from damage.
There are two types of armor in FOnline 3: body armor and helmets. Helmets protect your head. Body armor takes care of all the rest.
Armor has six tiers, just like weapons. The higher the tier, the better the armor.
Some armor might give you an armor class bonus, but most sets do the opposite.
Armor protects you against six types of damage: normal, laser, fire, plasma, electrical, and explosive; its effectiveness is determined by two numbers: DT and DR. Damage Threshold (DT) is a flat value subtracted from incoming damage whenever you're hit. It kicks in before its big brother, Damage Resistance (DR) takes over and reduces what's left by a percentage.
Some armor also makes you more resistant to critical hits, either by decreasing the opponent's chance to hit your critically, or by reducing the power level of incoming criticals.
Your body armor gains experience alongside you, unlocking up to six armor perks as it gains levels. The first three perks are always the same and are unlocked in the exact order listed in the table below. After that, anything can happen. Roger may be able to hook you up with an additional upgrade for a price.
Additionally, every suit of body armor has its own special bonus; they're all listed in the "bonus ability" column of the table below.
Armor loses durability as it absorbs damage; invest in Engineering to slow down the process, or Repair to try and reverse it. And remember: if your armor breaks, you can always craft more.
